Support me as I walk to end Alzheimer's!
My name is Tom Biggins. My father, Bill Biggins Sr., has been diagnosed with his dementia for close to 10 years now. He has been in a nursing home for the past 4 years as his needs were too great to be taken care of at home despite selfless and exhausting efforts of his devoted wife, my Mom. In his business life and personal life he was always generous with his time, talents, and treasure. The Biggins Family, ranging in age from 71 to 6, are participating in the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk to honor the man who taught us that life's greatest rewards come from service to something other than self.
In that spirit we are walking to raise funds to fight a disease that affects my father and over 5 million other Americans. We are asking your help in the form of a donation. This year I think we will call it “Dollars for Bill” (Credit to my cousin Ann for the name idea). No donation is too small (or large). The money will be used for research for a cure as well as treatments for those already diagnosed.
This is the second year our family has taken up this challenge in a public way and after raising over $30,000 last year we have high expectations for this year. It was a great time last year with beautiful weather and great fellowship. We will be walking with over 2500 other people so if you have a chance, come on out and enjoy the event. Over the years we have received many heartfelt expressions of concern and offers of prayer for our father. We feel that a donation to this year’s Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk would be the perfect way to help Dad (We still appreciate the prayers). Should you be in a position that you can help, please donate today.
